Caring for citrus
Chris says: Organic treatments are best when managing pests such as fruit fly.
Many citrus trees attract fruit fly. One thing you can do is mix up some soap (laundry powder might work but pure soap is best) in a bucket of luke-warm water.
When the soapy water is good and frothy you can throw the whole contents over the tree, or use a spray-bottle to apply to the leaves.
The soapy water coats the leaves and suffocates the insects. It won’t harm the tree at all. But please use in moderation.
